Our New Survival Business

October 20, 2016
One day we may be forced to flee to the hills and survive there for a while.

The time has never been more appropriate. Bad things are happening all around the world and the infrastructure is very fragile. For preppers, realists, adventurers and any outdoors lover, we have a solution. Please support our new South African business The Survivalist.

It is a fully comprehensive and interactive online store selling survival tools, all in one bug out bags, survival packs, long term food rat packs, camping meals, emergency packs, first aid kits and more for surviving emergency situations and extreme adventures.

We have teamed up with some of the leading suppliers in these fields to offer as wide a range as possible.

We have a range of lightweight, dehydrated gourmet meals. No cooking required – just add water and eat.

Typically us South Africans are a pretty apathetic bunch and either think it won’t happen to us, or we are tough and can handle it. When the shirt hits the fan, we will be caught short unless we all have plans, systems and essentials in place.

Apart from the preppers and those afraid of what the future may hold, any extreme sportsperson, adventurer or adrenalin junkie will find something useful in our webstore.

Big Party At MBC

July 2, 2012
The CinDer Soundbox disco has been a lot quieter lately. We used to play a lot at pubs, weddings, functions etc, but now just play for fun at smaller venues. We have done a couple of birthday bashes and a few braais at Wanderers Club, but nothing great....until the 16th June 2012!

We were asked to play at a fund raiser at Maritzburg Bowling Club. This is an annual event where other pubs and clubs around Pietermaritzburg enter teams in a fun day, social bowls competition. Teams consist of 3 bow...

Top Bands Of All Time Who Never Won A Grammy Award

April 4, 2012
I was playing at a local club last Saturday for a 40th birthday and as usual the conversation soon moved from the music I was playing to the "best of" category. We were trying to come up with the best bands/performers of all times. Obviously we never all agreed on the same names and some suggestions were rather surprising to say the least.

On my return home I searched the internet for lists of the top bands of all time, as opined by Cashbox, Rolling Stone and a few other "experts" in the fiel...

Top 100 Music Hits Of All Time

January 17, 2011
What do you think? if you were asked to compile a list of the 100 top songs of all time, what would you include?

Here is such a list "The Solid Gold Top 100 Songs HALL OF FAME".  It was released by Radio 702 and based on sales, requests and studio airplay.

I'm not sure that I agree with everything on the list, but its certainly closer than all the others I have seen.

There are a few I'd include and definitely a few I'd exclude, but not too bad! What do you think?

What Is The Alltime Top Selling Music

June 28, 2010
Who do you think the top selling artist is? Which albums do you think are the top sellers? Well, how about the top selling songs? If you were to make a list of the top sellers of all time, what would they be?

I was thinking about that this last weekend and I made lists of who I thought would be on top. Then I did some research on the Internet to verify the true facts. Boy, was I surprised!

It is difficult these days, to find the true facts as so many media reporters, including record labels are...

Bad Company Is One Of My Favourite Seventies Band

June 21, 2010
Right, let's get the ball rolling!

One of my old time favourite groups from the early seventies and one I still often listen to, is Bad Company. I was listening to some of their tracks recently, but was battling to remember who they were and what the history was.

I know that Paul Rogers fronted the band after his time with Free, but I wanted to know a bit more about the band. I Googled Bad Company and found the following information on Wikipedia. So, for all Bad Company fans, here is some info...

About Me

Hi! Please join me as I reminisce about bygone days and the magical 60s music and the first heavies around about the time of the first Woodstock concert. These are my favourites, but we can discuss any music here. I have been dee-jaying since 1968 and still play a few weddings and functions. I have always loved music and have amassed a huge collection over the years.
